English Language Theatre in Amsterdam in June 2024:

June 23: Goblin

  • When: June 23rd

Work-in-progress performance from Derek Mitchell (also known as Double Dutch). A dark narrative character comedy about Eliot, an emo kid with an imaginary goblin who just wants to be loved. When Eliot meets a much older reality TV star, he transforms into something horrible: the co-owner of a spin studio.

June 27-30: The Day They Kidnapped The Pope

  • When: June 27-30th

In New York, the Pope swaps his limousine for a taxi and is held hostage by driver Samuel Leibowitz, who demands one day of world peace. This humorous and heartwarming play, filled with witty dialogue, clever twists, and satire, impacts the Pope, Samuel, his family, and the world, blending chaos, misunderstandings, and surprising alliances.

June 15-16: Your Sexts Are S**t

Older Better Letters is the new solo show from Rachel Mars. It is an intimate, funny, filthy, and moving show that triangulates the sex and love letters of long-dead artists, contemporary sexts, and a meditation on the construction of the queer female body.

June 28-30th: The Bald Prima Donna

Two couples dive into hilariously absurd conversations, revealing the bizarre and trivial nature of bourgeois life. With witty dialogue and surreal humor, this play mocks the absurdity of human communication and social conventions, leaving the audience in stitches.
