Baby sit the drill, smile for the camera, and try not to get on each others’ nerves. All our astronauts have to do is kick back and become the first pioneers to find alien life. Paranoia was never in the job description.

This July, English Theatre Utrecht comes to Amsterdam and Utrecht for CrOak!, an original play by Marte van der Linden and Jasper Landman. The crew of Woodpecker Station have trained for everything, from drill maintenance to media training, but what should they do if they find something under the surface of an alien moon?

From director Jasper Landman: “I love pulpy, low sci-fi set in the near future. I found out that Europa has a roughly four-day orbit around Jupiter and would experience long 40 hour eclipses. A lot can happen when you’re cut off from Earth for 40 hours…"

Known for their productions of Breaking the Code, Off Grid, and The Mysterious Murder at the Murder Mystery: English Theatre Utrecht has been bringing English language theatre to Utrecht since 2018 with the goal of connecting the local and international residents of Utrecht through a shared passion for theatre and to be a creative outlet for anyone with an interest in the arts. Now they are back this Summer, ready to make you even second guess your second guess with this Sci-Fi horror. Watch the drill, watch your manners, watch your back, and WATCH OUT!
